Truck & Auto Repair Shop in Chatham

After a shockingly high and confusing repair estimate from my dealership i decided to go local so i called Bauer Automotive in Chatham. I was initially told by the dealership that I needed a breather cover reseal so i did an internet search and came up with nothing. Bauer diagnosed it as a valve cover gasket- so that's what they meant-Huh! Why not just say that? I guess because they couldn't overcharge for the repair. At that moment i decided to switch repair shops and went with Bauer since they were upfront and honest and gave me great pricing (much better than the dealership). The day of the repair i got a guaranteed estimate in writing and they drove me home and picked me up after the work was done (i live in the neighborhood. Will definitely put their info into my phone for the next time i need car service.

This is the most honest and professional business. My Range Rover needed an oil change and at the dealer they would charge me 4x more than what Bauer charged. Not only that, they encouraged me to first call the dealer and see if the oil change is part of my lease deal before I come to them. I would give this place 10 stars if I could. Fantastic! I definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for service to his/her vehicle.

My high mileage Audi S5 required attention after the mechatronic failed. Brad and Jim were courteous and professional, providing a summary estimate very quickly (as opposed to the local Audi dealership that failed to call me back). They fixed the problem and rethink car in a clean condition too. Highly recommend them as alternative to dealership work.

I just want to let everyone know! THERE’S ANOTHER AUTOBODY WITH THE SAME NAME. AND THEYRE THE SCAMMER! Dont get it confused. They have zero reviews at the moment and i’m appalled they make money ripping people off. I feel compelled to write this review so others will be aware and inform. BAUER AUTOMOTIVE TRUCk SERVICE at 27 Watchung Avenue tried to rip me off for diagnostic saying the whole work is between $1200-$3000. I cop out and went to my trusted shop and I was only charge $300 for the problem.
